The Teacher Training Center has been offering its courses since its foundation in 1993. Its main function is the training of secondary school teachers, but in addition its important mission to train professionally qualified teachers committed to the reformed church education. The teacher training would like to have equal importance with other disciplinary courses. The Bachelor’s (BA) and the Master's (MA) training, which are regulated by the 4th Annex of the 15/2006 OM Regulation, are available since 2008. This education system is adapted to the Bologna structure and realizes the teacher training via two levels. After graduation, the student can become a teacher-scientist who is capable to effectively teach the new generations and has all the necessary modern, comprehensive competences and pedagogical, psychological knowledges to do that.
The Teacher Training Center is the department, which is responsible for teacher trainings, it was established on 1 December 2012 in our Faculty, based on the 2011/CCIV higher education law. Its main responsibility to coordinate the work between Institutions / Departments / Divisions in the field of teacher training and ensure the co-operation between these departments.
The Teacher Training Center also coordinates the student interview, selection, admission, reception processes, the credit acceptance requests, the pedagogical trainings and the process of final exams. It organizes, monitors, and evaluates the school practices. The Teacher Training Center is responsible for teacher trainings in the Faculty, which will be available as undivided courses from September 2013 according to the law. The Center manages the specialty trainings related to each subjects (English; Hungarian; Hungarian as foreign language; German, History).
It is important that our university has its own training schools, and there are intense relationships between the teachers of divisions or departments and the mentor teachers of these schools. The Teacher Training Center participates in vocational teacher trainings, so called Preparation for mentor- and leader teacher tasks specialization in every year.
