KRE 30: Student Quiz Night

In connection with the 30th anniversary of the founding of Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary, the University Student Union organised a student quiz night on the initiative of the Directorate of Public Relations and Communication, in the framework of the Károli 30 commemorative year.

The International QuILL Project Has Ended

The international QuILL – Quality in Language Learning (2020-1-PT01-KA226-HE-094809) – project, in which teachers from higher education institutions in six countries participated, was carried out with the collaboration of the Faculty of Pedagogy's foreign language teachers. The project focuses on quality language learning, digital language learning materials and related state-of-the-art methodologies to support autonomous, self-regulated learning. Case studies have been carried out to investigate how these materials promote motivation to learn languages.

Ambassadorial Medal for Dr. Wakai Seiji, Associate Professor, Department of Japanese Studies

Dr. Wakai Seiji, Associate Professor, Department of Japanese Studies, has been awarded the Ambassador's Medal for his many years of tireless work in promoting Japanese Studies, organizing scientific symposia and other events, for developing Japanese language education in Hungary, publishing books and dictionaries, and strengthening student exchange connections.

Introductory visit of His Excellency Hong Kyu Dok to our University

On 9 March 2023, His Excellency Hong Kyu Dok, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Hungary, paid a preliminary visit to Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary. The Ambassador, who has been in office since January 2023, arrived at the Rector's Office accompanied by In Sukjin, Director of the Korean Cultural Institute.

Charity Concert to Support Victims of the Syrian Earthquake

The Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary is organizing a charity concert on 31 March at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music to support the victims of the Syrian earthquake. The profit from ticket sales and local donations will be distributed by the Károli Gáspár Reformed University and the Aleppo Reformed Congregation in Syria to the brothers and sisters in need in Aleppo, Syria. The people of Aleppo and the Reformed brothers and sisters had been at the centre of the bombardments and fighting for years in the most violent combat zone of the Syrian civil war when on 10 February a massive earthquake struck Aleppo and its inhabitants, causing irreparable loss of life and terrible destruction.

30 years dedicated to Reformed higher education

Between 24 February and 1 October 2023, Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its re-establishment after the change of regime. The events of the jubilee year include conferences, the publication of a jubilee volume, and various other programmes commemorating not only the past three decades, but also the preceding period of Reformed higher education as well as the spirit and mission leading up to the establishment of the university.

Election of new Vice-Rectors

The Senate of Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary elected the new Vice-Rectors of the University at its meeting on 24 February 2022. The brief introductions of the Vice-Rectors can be found below.

Hungarian Minister of Justice visits Károli

The Minister of Justice of Hungary, Professor László Trócsányi visited the Faculty of Law of Károli Gáspár University on 6 March 2018.  Organized within the framework of a scientific meeting of the Szemere Bertalan Research Center of our university, Minister Trócsányi gave a lecture with the title „Four years of legislation in the Ministry of Justice”.  After the lecture, students had the opportunity to ask questions concerning the recent developments of the Hungarian legislation.  The visit of the Minister of Justice was an outstanding event of the academic year.

Prestigious international acknowledgement of a Károli employee

Mr Tamás Hajnáczky, researcher of Roma issues of the Church and Society Institute of our university has gained the first prize at the article completion of the acknowledged international organisation Gypsy Lore Society with the opportunity to publish in the periodical of the society, the Romani Studies.
