Learning Foreign Languages at the University
Center for Foreign Languages and Examination
The university offers a wide range of foreign languages for the students. General language courses as well as those for professional purposes can be found at the portfolio of the Foreign Language Department.
General language courses such as English, Chinese, Finnish, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish – and Hungarian for international students – are taught at beginner and advanced level, but if required, the Foreign Language Department is ready to offer other language courses, too.
Besides the general ones professional language courses are also offered: to-be-lawyers may get acquainted with the legal terminology, theology students can learn ecclesiastical expressions, and prospective psychologists can sign on professional psychology language courses.
Students of each faculty can register for general language courses, and may join the language courses of other faculties. Education takes place in small groups of 8-16 persons.
The current fee of the general language courses is extremely favourable: only HUF 10,000 per semester! However, students may be exempted even from paying this sum in case of certain subjects indicated in their sample curriculum as a core (compulsory) or compulsory elective subjects.
Address of the Foreign Language Department: 1088 Budapest, Reviczky u. 4. The Foreign Language Department comprises the THEOLINGUA Ecclesiastic Language Examination Center where state-recognised language examinations can be taken.
THEOLINGUA Ecclesiastic Language Examination Center offers preparatory language courses for those who would like to take a language examination from English, German or Italian. For the students of our university 20 % discount is provided on the price of the preparatory courses and on that of the language exam.
We organise preparatory courses for our law students to prepare them for the PROFEX professional language exam in law and public administration.
