Sports at Károli

In 2022/2023, the University has launched the compulsory physical education as part of a major sports development programme, giving students a choice of sports.

In the academic year 2023/2024, students may choose from among the following courses:

Indoor rowing: The course aims to familiarise students with the methodological specificities of rowing, strengthening and functional fitness. In 45 minutes twice a week, special attention will be paid to the correct learning and execution of rowing movements, the correct loading of muscles and joints, and the correct execution of stretching exercises. It’s a great form of exercise, not just for boys!

Zumba: Our Zumba classes give students the opportunity to get involved in one of the most fun, music and dance-based forms of exercise on campus and become part of a great team. Our young instructors pay attention not only to quality exercise, but also to a good atmosphere, making Zumba classes an unmissable choice. Put on your dancing shoes and come!

Volleyball: It is the most popular team sport at the University and should not be left out of the compulsory physical education sports programme. Volleyball is a very active sport, particularly suited to flexible, fast exercises. It develops motor skills and, like many other sports, teaches discipline and self-control. Our university teams are among the best in the championships year after year, which is why freshman recruitment is so important for us.

Aerobics: Aerobics is a form of exercise performed to music that moves many muscle groups at the same time. It is an excellent community building programme. It was very popular among the students in the previous academic year, so this year we are looking forward to welcoming everyone to this session with great enthusiasm.

Stretching: For those who prefer less dynamic, slower movements, we offer a special type of class: stretching. Once a week there is an opportunity to stretch, strengthen, relax and focus your body. This form of exercise can be an excellent choice for those who have difficulty in concentrating and want to relax. Not just for exam periods!

The establishment of KRE SC was a major milestone in the life of Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary. The most important task of the association since its foundation has been the creation of sports divisions, the provision of high-quality training and competition opportunities, and appropriate sportswear and additional equipment for our athletes.
