Study and Carrier Counselling

One of the benefits of life-long learning is carrier counselling which helps the students to recognise and focus on their own values, skills and abilities, and provides guidance towards carrier paths in the chosen fields of study. In addition, the students are supported to make independent decisions about their own carriers.

At the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and at the Faculty of Law Carrier Offices provide counselling for the students.

Thanks to the religious education and the favourable teacher-student ratio at the Faculty of Theology it is the lecturers who may provide assistance and carrier counselling to their student.

The students of the Faculty of Pedagogy may turn to a pastor employed in full-time for carrier and mental health counselling. Carrier orientation is one of the subjects in the timetable of teacher training.

Peer Counselling

Online Student Counselling – KONT@KT
In the spring of 2014 we launched an online student counselling for the students of the Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary. Our online student counselling programme offers support to students who, while staying anonymous, are looking for support and understanding concerning life management, relationship, integration difficulties, carrier and other important issues. The mail service operates through the university webmail and is easily available for anyone, from anywhere. All of our counsellors are human health care professionals with diplomas acquired in mental health postgraduate specialisation programme of the University. In addition to this, all of them have participated in a special training programme. Our counsellors keep all information confidential. The service operates under supervision.

Peer Counselling

SOULító Peer counsellors at Károli
The members of the Peer Counselling are volunteer psychologist and sociologist students who have taken part in peer counselling training. Their work is supported and supervised by professionals at the university. In the framework of peer counselling they
• hold individual consultations where students may talk confidentially, face-to-face with one of the members of SOULító about issues that concern them;
• organise film clubs and discussions on important topics;
• arrange self-awareness activities and board games such as Dixit, Identity and other games for small groups in the afternoon.
