In line with Christian – and more specifically Protestant – values and perspectives, the College of Excellence strives to educate learned and well-prepared professionals with modern erudition and wishes to do so for the benefit of Hungarian society. Such experts are envisaged to join Hungarian and international academic and scientific life, and – through doctoral studies – will contribute to the work pursued by future generations of professionals in Hungarian scientific, academic and higher education institutions.

The lecture series offered by the College of Excellence have been designed in a way that they enable, on the one hand, the examination of Protestantism and, on the other hand, the examination of the interrelation between language, culture and identity. An important goal of the College of Excellence is to coordinate the work of the individual workshops and to investigate the topics examined in the scope of multi- and transdisciplinary approaches thereby paving the way for launching joint courses. The College of Excellence’s intention is to provide students with insights into research carried out by the research groups at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary and to potentially involve the College’s students in such activities.
Professional academic, scientific and research work at the College is carried out by field-specific workshops. Students have the opportunity to join the activities of more than one workshop.
