Department of Commercial Law and Financial Law

Lawyers practicing in business need to acquire skills at least in three areas: business contracts, company law and taxation. Our department engages lawyers and legal practitioners in its activities, bringing real-life deals and cases to the classroom. The Faculty’s activities in business law have benefited from its traditional strengths in the area of law & business.

The department was merged by two previously independent departments.

The Commercial Law section comprises two academic lawyers who hold the following  four compulsory lectures.

     i. Company and Bankruptcy Law
     ii. Commercial Contract Law and Securities Law
     iii Consumer Protection Law
     iv. Competition Law I.

The Financial Law section entails 2 academic lawyer and other legal practitioners who give lectures on tax law, public finance and public procurement. In addition to the lectures, seminars help students acquire basic practical skills through case law.

Apart from the abovementioned lectures, both sections of the department offer numerous optional lectures.
