Programme structure

This one-year (two-semester), English-language MA programme offers an interdisciplinary introduction to contemporary Europe in the context of global transformation. It examines the key political, institutional, and policy dimensions of European integration while situating them within broader global, societal, and environmental developments shaping Europe today.

The programme covers the EU’s internal structures, the evolution of its external relations, and their transatlantic and Eurasian political and security contexts. It provides a solid foundation for analysing complex transnational policy areas—such as trade, energy, and investment—within current international frameworks. Courses on global governance, diplomacy, and negotiation practice offer insight into the functioning of multilateral and bilateral international relations. Overall, the programme equips students with applicable knowledge of contemporary political, economic, environmental, and social transformations at both regional and global levels.

Main subject areas:

  • European Union Governance and External Relations
  • European, Transatlantic and Eurasian Security
  • International Organizations, Politics and Diplomacy
