With the aim of strengthening and further developing the university's relations with Uzbekistan, Akbar Tashkulov, Minister of Justice of Uzbekistan, visited our institution on 21st January 2026 at the Károlyi-Csekonics Palace. During the meeting, Prof. Dr. László Trócsányi, Rector, Prof. Dr. Róbert Szuchy, Vice Rector for Education, and representing the Faculty of Law: Prof. Dr. Zoltán J. Tóth, Dean, Prof. Dr. Ádám Boóc, Vice Dean for International and Scientific Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Attila Kun welcomed the Minister and the members of his delegation.
The university's legal education was presented at the meeting, and the parties set the goal of deepening educational and scientific cooperation in the future.
In 2025, there were two other opportunities to discuss scientific and professional cooperation between Károli Gáspár University and Uzbekistan. In March, His Excellency Aybek Shakhavdinov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Hungary visited our university, and in April, we welcomed three outstanding students from one of our Uzbek partner institutions: the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, and the head of the department responsible for international rankings to our Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
