It is a huge honor for our university that on March 27, 2026, at the LED’S Run, the Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary was awarded the title of Most Athletic University.
The event, organized jointly by the Hungarian University and College Sports Federation (MEFS) and the Sporting Nation Program, took place at the National Athletics Center, where running was transformed into a spectacular, festival-like experience. The track was illuminated with lights, DJs provided the atmosphere, and LED performers, fire jugglers, and dancers in illuminated costumes made the evening even more memorable.
Participants could choose between a 2-kilometer family fun run and a 5-kilometer competitive race, the latter taking place on a track previously used by world-class athletes. With thousands of participants, the event became a true community sports experience. Notably, three international students from Károli also took part in the run, contributing to our university’s achievement.
As part of the race, a university competition was held, ranking institutions based on the total kilometers completed by their students. Among the top three universities were Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, and Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary.
Thanks to the outstanding performance and enthusiasm of our students, Károli emerged as the winner, securing the Most Athletic University title. This achievement is particularly notable, as it surpassed several significantly larger institutions.

This recognition is not only a sports achievement but also a community success, reflecting the activity, perseverance, and strong sense of togetherness that characterizes the Károli community.
