In the last week of March 2026, Dóra Pődör (Institute of English Studies) represented Károli University in Chile at the annual conference of the European Master in Lexicography (EMLex) joint degree programme, titled EMLex Colloquium – Lexicography, Teaching and Language Technology, as well as at the programme’s semi-annual consortium meeting.
This year’s events were hosted by one of the consortium’s associate partners, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV). During the colloquium, Dr. Pődör delivered a presentation entitled “Learn Irish with Duolingo”, contributing to ongoing discussions on innovative approaches in language learning and lexicography.
In addition to participating in the conference and consortium meeting, representatives of the partner universities also engaged in outreach activities, promoting the EMLex programme to Chilean students. The visit further strengthened academic and professional cooperation with regional institutions, including the University of Valparaíso.
The event provided an excellent opportunity to deepen international collaboration and to showcase the strengths of the EMLex programme in a global academic context.
