On March 13, His Excellency Aybek Shakhavdinov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited our university. During the introductory visit, the members of the delegation were welcomed by László Trócsányi Rector, Péter Balla Vice-rector for International Relations, Róbert Szuchy Vice-rector for Education, Andrea Domokos Vice-dean of the Faculty of Law, Judit Nagy Vice-dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Miklós Sárközy Associate Professor of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Gábor Szalai Head of International Relations Office at the Károlyi-Csekonics Palace.
Currently, our university has cooperation agreements with three Uzbek higher education institutions, offering law and humanities courses in Tashkent, where Rector Trócsányi paid a visit earlier, in October 2023. In the framework of the Erasmus+ ICM program, our university is carrying out international mobility with two Uzbek institutions. In the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship program, Uzbek students are currently studying at our institution.
The Faculty of Law of our university has cooperated with the Research Institute of Criminology in Tashkent on several occasions: in October 2024, Professor Andrea Domokos, Head of the Institute of Criminal Sciences and the Department of Criminal Law, participated in and gave a presentation at the international criminology conference organised by the Research Institute of Criminology of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In September 2024, the Director of the Research Institute of Criminology of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Budapest visited the Faculty of Law.
In 2023, our university hosted the II. Hungarian-Uzbek Rectors' Forum at the Károlyi-Csekonics Palace.
The visit was an excellent opportunity for our university and Uzbekistan to discuss further opportunities for scientific and professional cooperation.
