The Vice-Rector of Ibn Zohr University in Morocco has visited our university

Mustapha Aabi, Professor at Ibn Zohr University in Morocco and Vice-Rector for International Relations, visited our university on September 24. He began his visit at the Faculty of Law, where he met Dean Zoltán J. Tóth and Ádám Boóc, Vice-Dean for International and Scientific Affairs.

In the afternoon, Rector László Trócsányi welcomed the Vice-Rector at the Károlyi–Csekonics Palace. The guest met Gábor Szalai, Head of the International Relations Office, Péter Wagner, Associate Professor, and participated in a discussion moderated by Judit Nagy, Vice-Dean for International Affairs, with Erzsébet Stróbl, Head of the Department of English Language and Literature (Institute of English Studies), Hanae Ezzaouya (Institute of English Studies), Csilla Pesti (Teacher Training Institute), Zsuzsanna Kövi (Institute of Psychology) and Katalin Dancsi (Institute of Social and Communication Sciences) with the aim of generating further specific cooperation projects, followed by a working dinner with Dean Mózes Csoma and Judit Nagy. During his visit, Professor Aabi also visited the impressive Károlyi-Csekonics Palace.

The relationship between the two universities is not new: during his official visit to Morocco between November 1 and 5, 2024, Rector László Trócsányi signed a framework cooperation agreement with the President of Ibn Zohr University in Agadir. Initiatives to flesh out the framework agreement began in the spring of 2025. At the end of May, following consultations with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, several promising cooperation projects and areas were identified.

Between April 2 and 5, 2025, with the support of the Hungarian Embassy in Rabat, five young Moroccans came to our university for a study trip. Associate Professor Péter Wagner represented our institution at the Higher Education Cooperation Seminar held in Morocco on April 8-9.

Until now, a total of three Moroccan students have completed their studies at Károli Gáspár University as part of its full training programs. Two of them completed a master's degree in English Studies, and one completed a bachelor's degree in Psychology. The current teaching staff of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences also includes one Moroccan teacher.
