Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary, in cooperation with Khazar University, Baku, will host the 6th International Conference on the Philosophy of Language, Literature, and Linguistics (ICPL 2027) in Budapest on 7–8 May 2027. The central theme of the conference is the impact of artificial intelligence on higher education, reflected in its title: “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Higher Education: Support, Tolerance, or Restriction.” The two-day hybrid conference will be hosted at the Károlyi–Csekonics Palace of Károli Gáspár University.
ICPL 2027 welcomes submissions from researchers, faculty members, PhD students, practitioners, policymakers, and other participants interested in the topic from around the world. The conference will explore how artificial intelligence is transforming higher education and the philosophical, ethical, legal, linguistic, literary, and pedagogical questions arising from the increasingly widespread use of AI in academic environments.
The conference is organised around four main thematic areas:
- Governance, Ethics, Law, Philosophy and Economics of AI, including academic integrity, human–AI collaboration, and the legal challenges of artificial intelligence;
- AI in Higher Education, Research and Academic Development, including the use of generative AI in teaching, curriculum design, assessment, and research;
- AI in Language Education, Teacher Education and Linguistics, covering areas ranging from language assessment and computational linguistics to large language models and multilingual communication;
- AI in Literature, Humanities, and Cultural Studies, including digital humanities, creative writing, cultural production, and questions of human authorship and machine-generated texts.
Károli Gáspár University and Khazar University invite researchers, faculty members, and PhD students to submit a 350–400-word abstract, accompanied by a brief biography of no more than 50 words. Presentations may be delivered either in person or online.
Selected papers presented at the conference may also be submitted for consideration for a special issue of the Khazar Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (KJHSS). The journal is indexed in Web of Science (ESCI), and all submissions will undergo the journal’s standard peer-review process. There will be no publication fee for the special issue.
