As part of the training project “Arbitration and Other Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods” organised by the Hungarian Arbitration Association (MVbE) and the Education Committee of the Budapest Bar Association, Prof. Dr. Ádám Boóc, Vice-Dean for International Affairs and Science and Head of the Institute of Private Law at the Faculty of Law of Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary, delivered a lecture entitled “Third Parties in Arbitral Proceedings” on 17 September 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Following the lecture, he also took part in a panel discussion with Dr Kinga Tímár, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law of Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), and Dr Richárd Schmidt, President of the Hungarian Arbitration Association.
In his lecture, Prof. Dr. Ádám Boóc also examined the international dimensions of arbitration, focusing on Section 35 of Act LX of 2017 on Arbitration, which regulates the participation of persons who are not parties to the arbitration agreement in arbitral proceedings. He also discussed possible directions for amending the provision and presented several de lege ferenda proposals.
