Scholarship Application

The Institute of English Studies of Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary
is happy to announce that
there is a possibility for

five students to study at Calvin Universityi (Grand Rapids, Michigan, U.S.A.) in the Interim Period (January)

Who may apply?

Any enrolled student of Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary (KRE) with at least two successfully completed semesters may apply for the program. Applicants shall have a good written and oral knowledge of English.

Financial terms

Accommodation and tuition will be covered by Calvin University and by KRE.
Travel expenses, visa and insurance shall be covered by the participant. In addition, the student is also expected to contribute to his or her total costs with approx. 150 USD, for personal expenses.
In order to support the participants, KRE contributes to the travel costs with 2000 USD per person.

Application procedure

As a next step, the applicants will be invited to participate in an oral interview.

Applicants will be informed about the results within a week after the interview at the latest.

Application materials

The application material should consist of
– a written statement of purpose (why the applicant feels it important to spend three weeks at Calvin University) in approx. 250 words, with clear indication of the e-mail and postal address, as well as the phone number, at which the candidate can be reached
– a copy of the applicant's transcript of records from the last two semesters (the relevant data printed out from the Neptun system)

Application deadline

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, the next application deadline is unknown.
