Description of undertaken activities:
The 2 incoming SMS (communication and media studies) took CMS and language courses. The 1 inbound STA (HGU) taught "communication in performing arts" courses and the outbound STA (KRE) taught public relations courses within the field of CMS. Both lecturers were involved in curriculum comparison and, in line with joint institutional efforts to automatize credit recognition and in preparation for a joint master's project, certain specific course contents were modified for some courses. During the mobility, participants focused on learning and sharing good practices. Participants’ language and IT skills improved. Participants presented their home institution to students and teachers from partner institutions at various forums. In addition to the compulsory educational content, the 2 incoming students participated in Orientation Week. Unfortunately, only one of them could attend Károli Community Days due to the virus situation. For the incoming STA we organized a sightseeing tour of Budapest and a trip to Lake Balaton, while the outgoing STA participated in a sightseeing tour of Pohang and a trip to Kyongju.

 

Russia

Description of undertaken activities:
The incoming and outgoing STA were to have taught English language pedagogy, applied linguistics, language and history. Unfortunately, the epidemic and the war situation did not allow this. Although physical teacher mobility did not take place, inter-institutional communication is still active, problems and good practices are shared, and the partner institution has advised on marketing our English teacher training program in Russia and the post-Soviet states. In addition, one of our selected STAs, who was unable to travel to Russia, participated online in the partner university's methodology conference with an academic presentation. Incoming students participated in Orientation Week, but due to the epidemic situation, they were unable to attend the Károli Community Days.

 

United States of America

Number and profile of participants:

Description of undertaken activities:
The incoming STA taught literature (Early English Period) and presented her book "Teaching and Christian Imagination" to academics and students at the Institute of English Studies. The outgoing STT gave linguistics lectures (pragmatics), visited the college of excellence, met Calvin University management, researchers, academics and students. As a cultural program, he took part in a campus tour, a tour of the Grand Rapids and a beach picnic. Both the STA and STT participated in the envisaged departmental curriculum comparison, which was conducted in a discipline-specific manner (literature-culture/linguistics), analyzing similarities and differences with a view to developing automated subject acceptance and a joint master's program, and discussing faculty and student experiences of the reformed BA in English and American Studies. Based on the incoming STA’s suggestions, we updated the content of some of our English-American literature and culture courses. For the incoming STA, we organized a professional dinner, a tour of Budapest, and an introductory meeting with the head of the Institute of English Studies, the 2 department heads, as well as with colleagues from the department.
