On 18th September 2024, Colonel Bakhtiyor Berdialiev, Head of the Research Institute of Criminology of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the colleagues of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Budapest paid an official visit to the Faculty of Law of our university.
We would like to inform the interested applicants that the deadline for admission to the two new English-language LL.M. programs: the LL.M. in Digital Economic Legal Expert and the LL.M. in Energy and Natural Resources Law has been extended to September 16, 2024.
A delegation from Hansung University in Seoul visited our university on September 2, 2024. The guests, including President Chang-Won Lee, Ph.D., were received by Prof. Dr. Péter Balla, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Prof. Dr. Péter Furkó, Vice-Rector for Science and Research, Prof. Dr. Géza Horváth, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. Judit Nagy, Vice-Dean for International Relations, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. habil. Mózes Csoma, Head of the Department of Korean Studies, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Dr. Gábor Szalai, Head of Office, International Relations Office. The meeting was also attended by His Excellency Hong Kyudok, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Hungary.
Prof. Dr. Zoltán J. Tóth, Dean of the Faculty of Law, participated in the IVR 2024 Congress in Seoul from 8-12 July 2024. In the framework of the programme, he held talks with Professor Beomsik Jang, Rector of Soongsil University, and Professor Tae Kyun Yoo on 9 July. He also met with Professor Ihm Sahng Hyeog, Head of the Institute of Legal Studies and Head of Korean Law & Society, and with professors at the Institute. During the talks, the two sides discussed possible future professional, research and educational cooperation and shared their experiences.
On July 1, 2024, international students and postgraduate specialists received their diplomas in the Council Hall of the Faculty of Law.
The graduation ceremony for international students at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences was held in the Cigar Room of the Károlyi-Csekonics Palace on 28 June. On this occasion, diplomas were awarded to fourteen students, including three Egyptians, three Hungarians, two Kosovars, one American, one Pakistani, one Montenegrin, one Kenyan, one Syrian, and one Kazakh citizen, graduating from the English language BA program in Psychology and the Hungarian language MA program in History.
The Reformed Church of Hungary has announced an open architectural competition for the design of the new campus of the Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary (KRE) in Ferencváros. 42 architectural firms submitted valid entries. The winning entry was selected by a jury of experts from Archikon Architects, Budapest, which is 35 years old this year. In addition to the experts delegated by the Reformed Church, the jury was composed of Zoltán Erő, Chief Architect of Budapest, Krisztina Baranyi, Mayor of Ferencváros, Tihamér Szalay, Vice President of the Hungarian Chamber of Architects, and Gyula Balázs Csáki-Hatalovics, Chancellor of the University. The jury was chaired by Regő Lánszki, National Chief Architect and State Secretary of the Ministry of Construction and Transport, and co-chaired by Balázs Fürjes, Head of University Development. The results of the competition were announced on Monday evening.
