On 9 March 2023, His Excellency Hong Kyu Dok, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Hungary, paid a preliminary visit to Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary. The Ambassador, who has been in office since January 2023, arrived at the Rector's Office accompanied by In Sukjin, Director of the Korean Cultural Institute.
The guests were welcomed by Prof. Dr. László Trócsányi, Rector, Dr. habil. Géza Horváth, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. habil. Mózes Csoma, Associate Professor of the Institute of Oriental Studies and Dr. Judit Nagy, Vice-Dean for International Affairs, at the Károlyi-Csekonics Palace. During the visit, they discussed the University's relations with Korea and the projects implemented so far in Korea, as well as future cooperation opportunities.
