Energy Sustainability Week at Károli – Focusing on the Future of Energy

Our university has extended its cooperation with the Portuguese Camões Institute. On September 3, Rector László Trócsányi and His Excellency Jorge Roza de Oliveira, Ambassador of Portugal to Budapest, representing the Institute, signed an agreement whereby the Camões Institute will continue to provide financial support for the work of instructors of Portuguese courses launched by the Foreign Language Department.
President Sang Hoon Bae from Pukyong National University (Busan, South Korea) visited Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary on September 3, 2025. President Bae was accompaned by Dean Hak Jun Kim (College of Natural Sciences), and Jae Chul Seo (Provost of International Affairs). The delegation was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Péter Furkó, Vice Rector for Science and Innovation, Dr. habil. Mózes Csoma, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. Judit Nagy, Vice Dean for International Affairs of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Dr. Gábor Szalai, Head of the International Relations Office.
On July 28, 2025, Dr. Rhishikesh Dave, Professor of Law from Sharda University, India visited our university. He was received by Prof. Dr. Róbert Szuchy, Vice-Rector for Education, Dr. Gábor Szalai, Head of the International Relations Office, and Karola Urbán, Assistant to the Vice-Rector for Education at the Károlyi-Csekonics Palace.
The graduation ceremony for international students at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences was held in the Cigar Room of the Károlyi-Csekonics Palace on June 27, 2025. On this occasion, 11 international students from 11 countries received their degree graduating from the English language BA program in Psychology and the MA program in English Studies.
Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary and the European Federation of Energy Law Associations (EFELA) are pleased to host the EFELA Annual Congress 2025, titled Clean Energy and AI Conference, on 11–12 September 2025 at the historic Károli Csekonics Palace in Budapest.
On 23rd June, His Excellency Francois Lafreniere, Ambassador of Canada to Hungary, Slovenia and Bosnia, visited our University for the first time since the beginning of his mandate. During his visit to the Károlyi-Csekonics Palace, Ambassador Lafreniere was first received by Rector László Trócsányi, Judit Nagy, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Coordinator of the Károli Canada Centre, and Gábor Szalai, Head of the International Relations Office. During the meeting, among other things, the extension of Canadian Studies to the Faculty of Law was discussed.
On May 23, 2025, Károli Gáspár University and Yonsei University co-hosted their first hybrid graduate student conference, titled “Urban Culture in the Twenty-First Century”. Although it was KRE’s first joint event with one of South Korea’s oldest and most prominent universities, we hope it will become a tradition, along with further future inter-institutional collaboration.
