International Graduation Ceremony

The graduation ceremony for international students at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences was held in the Cigar Room of the Károlyi-Csekonics Palace on 28 June. On this occasion, diplomas were awarded to fourteen students, including three Egyptians, three Hungarians, two Kosovars, one American, one Pakistani, one Montenegrin, one Kenyan, one Syrian, and one Kazakh citizen, graduating from the English language BA program in Psychology and the Hungarian language MA program in History.

Plans for the new university campus announced

The Reformed Church of Hungary has announced an open architectural competition for the design of the new campus of the Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary (KRE) in Ferencváros. 42 architectural firms submitted valid entries. The winning entry was selected by a jury of experts from Archikon Architects, Budapest, which is 35 years old this year. In addition to the experts delegated by the Reformed Church, the jury was composed of Zoltán Erő, Chief Architect of Budapest, Krisztina Baranyi, Mayor of Ferencváros, Tihamér Szalay, Vice President of the Hungarian Chamber of Architects, and Gyula Balázs Csáki-Hatalovics, Chancellor of the University. The jury was chaired by Regő Lánszki, National Chief Architect and State Secretary of the Ministry of Construction and Transport, and co-chaired by Balázs Fürjes, Head of University Development. The results of the competition were announced on Monday evening.

New LL.M. Programs in English Launches at Our Law Faculty

Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary (KRE) is proud to announce the launch of two new English-language LL.M. programs this fall: the LL.M. in Digital Economic Legal Expert and the LL.M. in Energy and Natural Resources Law. These new programs will also be available online, allowing a global audience to join KRE's renowned educational community from all over the world.

The Law of Digital Age – international symposium

The Symposium of the Law of Digital Age took place in Budapest as part of the 100th anniversary of Turkish-Hungarian relations. Organized in collaboration between Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Law and Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary (Károli Gáspár Református Egyetem), the symposium witnessed significant discussions among Turkish and Hungarian academics on digitalization and artificial intelligence. In the opening speeches, both the Rector of Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary, Prof. Dr. László Trócsányi and the Dean of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Neslihan Karataş Durmuş expressed their wishes for the continuation of cooperation. The symposium focused on the digitalization and/or the use of artificial intelligence in various legal disciplines including arbitration, tax law, labour law, civil law, migration law and civil procedure. Participants discussed the challenges posed by digitalization and/or artificial intelligence in Turkish and Hungarian law and deliberated on future steps. The symposium was hailed as a significant milestone in the academic world.

The guests were received by Rector László Trócsányi, Vice-Rector for Religious Affairs Péter Balla, Dean Géza Horváth, Vice-Dean for International Affairs Judit Nagy, Head of the Department of Korean Studies Mózes Csoma, and International Director Gábor Szalai at the Károlyi-Csekonics Palace.

Student success in Beijing

The team of the Faculty of Law and Political Science of KRE, led by Prof. Dr. Ádám Boóc, Vice Dean for International and Scientific Affairs, participated in the 16th BFSU - WANHUIDA Cup Intellectual Property Moot Court Competition in Beijing, China, from 24 to 26 May 2024. The team consisted of Zsófia Tarjáni - Nagy, Doan Phi Yen and Nguyen Thi Hong. Notably, Doan Phi Yen was awarded the Outstanding Oralist Special Prize.
