Hungarian success at the Hugo Sinzheimer Moot Court Competition (HS MCC)

The eighth International Labour Law Moot Court Competition, the Hugo Sinzheimer Moot Court Competition (HS MCC), was held at Károli Gáspár Reformed University in Budapest, Hungary, from 15-17 June 2023. Law students from some twenty-five universities in thirteen countries (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Portugal, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands) participated in the European Labour Law Competition. This year the competition was hosted in the Károlyi-Csekonics Palace, which provided a dignified and professional environment for the competition. Teams from twelve countries competed in both defendant and plaintiff positions, while students from the thirteenth country, this year Italy, as the country providing the case, competed in the position of judge. Organised by the Department of Labour Law and Social Security of the Faculty of Law, the event was attended by around 100 participants, including law students from renowned European universities and eminent labour law academics and practitioners.

The Faculty of Pedagogy organized the Talent - Faith - Identity Conference for the second time

Based on the tradition started in 2021, the Faculty of Pedagogy once again invited the theoretical and practical experts in talent management; on 26 May 2022 the Talent - Faith - Identity Conference was held for the second time. Building on the diversity of the concept of talent, the Faculty announced its event with the aim of highlighting the role of faith in the process of developing skills, in addition to presenting theoretical research and good practices related to the topic of talent management.

International Conference on the History of Antique Law

On 19-22 May 2022, the 25th anniversary of the Internationales Sommerseminar zur Antiken Rechtsgeschichte was organized by University of Szeged, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences in Szigliget.

Korean Ambassador H.E.Mr. Park Chul Min visited our university

Prof. Dr. László Trócsányi, rector, invited Ambassador H.E.Mr. Park Chul Min of Korea to visit our university for the first time on 24 May. His Excellency was welcomed at the Károlyi-Csekonics Palace by Prof. Dr. László Trócsányi, Dr. Habil. Géza Horváth, Dean for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and by Dr. Judit Nagy, Vice-Dean for International Affairs at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

WILLEM C. VIS MOOT 2020/21 - PANEL DISCUSSION WITH THE MOOTIES OF THE KAROLI GASPAR UNIVERSITY, FACULTY OF LAW – 01. 07. 2021, 8:00 pm

The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot is a competition for law students to foster the study and practice of international commercial sales law and arbitration. The 2020/21 Vis problem centered around patent licenses for a COVID-19 vaccine. The panel discussion with the Vis Mooties of the Faculty of Law of the Karoli Gaspar University will revisit the substantive and procedural legal issues raised by this year’s Vis problem. The panel discussion will be moderated by Adam Boóc, PhD. Associate Professor, Head of Department of Civil Law and Roman Law. 

Bronze medal at the LEN European Aquatic Championships 2021

The Hungarian artistic swimming team led by student of communications and media studies of Károli Gáspár University, Ms Luca Rényi, won the bronze medal in the „highlight” category at the LEN European Aquatic Championships 2021 held in Budapest in May.

New acting Rector leads the university

The Senate of the University at its extraordinary session on 4 June 2020 appointed Vice-Rector Dr Ágnes Czine as the acting rector of the university from 5 June.

Rector Balla visits Japan

The Rector of our university, Prof. Dr. Péter Balla, accompanied by Director of International Relations Gyula Sümeghy, paid a visit to Japan between 24 and 31 May 2019.

Brazilian delegation visits Károli

A delegation of ABRUEM (Brazilian Association of Rectors of State and Municipal Universities) visited our university on 25 June 2018.

The online application system is available for Autumn Semester or Full Academic year 2014/2015 from 10 April 2014.
 
Application deadline: June 15, 2014.

Autumn semester course offering begins approximately a months before the end of the application deadline (around May 2014).
All courses have the same credit point value, 6.
