Learn a foreign language as an international student of KRE!

The Department of Foreign Languages at Károli Gáspár University offers a wide range of foreign language courses for international students every semester.
Currently students can choose from 12 languages
: English, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Italian, Finnish, Dutch, Chinese, Norwegian, Portuguese and Turkish.

  • 12 week courses, i.e. 48 hours per semester,
  • 1x180 or 2x90 minute classes per week 
  • ”hybrid” teaching
  • no more than 20 students per class
  • no more than 3 absences allowed

Language of instruction

Apply for at least B2 level courses, because at the beginner levels (A1, A2, B1) the language of instruction is Hungarian. We encourage you to go to the first classes and discuss your possibilities with the professors.

Registration

You are able to register for language courses in the university’s online system ’Neptun’ during the course registration period at the beginning of each semester.

  • International exchange students (Erasmus, regular exchange, etc.): for registration use ERPB-INYL code only – in this case courses are free of charge and you will receive 6 credits
  • Students studying on full-degree programmes (Stipendium Hungaricum, Scholarship for Christian Young People, Károli Christian Scholarship, self-financing students): use INYL…. code


Costs

  • International exchange students (Erasmus, regular exchange, etc.): free of charge.
  • Students studying on full-degree programmes (Stipendium Hungaricum, Scholarship for Christian Young People, Károli Christian Scholarship, self-financing students): 10.000 HUF/ semester / course paid until the 4th week of the semester through the Neptun system.

Credits

  • International exchange students (Erasmus, regular exchange, etc.): 6 ECTS.
  • Students studying on full-degree programmes (Stipendium Hungaricum, Scholarship for Christian Young People, Károli Christian Scholarship, self-financing students): 3 ECTS.
